Aristotle

Aristotle is one of the giants. His teacher at the Academy, Plato, had dubbed him “the intelligence”. He created a school, high school. He was also the tutor of Alexander the Great who would become famous for his conquests and knowledge.

The five elements

Aristotle separates the world into two parts, below, the four elements of Empedocles, the earth, water fire and air from heaviest to lightest he calls the world of imperfection where everything corrupts and dies and which extends to the Moon. Beyond, the world is perfect and made up of ether, the fifth element, the fifth essence which is the quintessence, perfection and inalterability. It is the domain of the gods and celestial bodies and it fills the whole sky.
